dedicated to Uncle David.
So today I got up around 8:00 feeling very restless.
I talked to my sister- she's having surgery tomorrow.
We ate Pizza Rolls for breakfast. Not part of your complete nutritional breakfast, I know, but it's not something we do all the time. As we were making the pizza rolls we were discussing how beautiful it was outside and how we should find something to do today so we wouldn't waste what might be the last really beautiful day of the fall.
So WE WENT TO CEDARS OF LEBANON AND HIKED 5 MILES!!! I HIKED 5 MILES, PEOPLE (namely Uncle David)!!!
Okay, so i freaked out a little bit when it got really woodsy but i did it. It was so much fun. I have never been hiking before so it was definately an experience. This city-lover was trekking through the woods! I had a little walking stick to fight off wolves and foxes and bears and katydids and all the other things that make Cedars of Lebanon dangerous ;) Okay, so really it just made me feel better. We found a lot of cool sinkholes and ravines to explore. I had the nature crash course. I cried twice. The first time was the first time i got a spiderweb to the face. The second, when I followed Dave to the bottom of a ravine. I looked up and saw how all of the rocks were just kindof laying on top of each other above us- and as stable as i know it really was, i started seeing horrible things happening and Dave said I started shaking and so he lead me out and i just cried. But otherwise it was awesome. It was neat to think about what it would have been like to walk through the roads before there were roads. When you just had to know where you were going and hike. It felt like i was getting more in tune with nature. It was just an interesting all the way around.
Ugh- I'm sooooo tired- i think i'm gonna watch family guy and then pass out.
Horray for nature.
Horray for first-times.
Horry for me for making it out alive ;)
